“Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the harmonies, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another, to cause vibrations in the soul.”
— Wassily Kandinsky
ArtMuse Selects presents a featured virtual exhibition, curated by Natasha Schlesinger, that takes its inspiration from the energy, speed, community and gritty urban setting of a city. As our society comes back from isolation and turbulence of 2020, we return to the city, its streets becoming busy once again, its sidewalks bustling with action once more, outdoor restaurants filling up with revelers, locals and visitors wanting to celebrate and return to some sort of normalcy. A city like New York will never disappear but will simply evolve, re-invent itself and re-emerge as a phoenix from the ashes of the past. Five artists in the current show present works that remember, feature and give hope to the city and the urban setting.
